Dear Chris,
I got your letter today. And I was glad to get one from you. I haven't been doing a hole lot. But studying and just counting the days till I get home. I got 17 more days to go and then I am home ward bound. Sounds nice doesn't it?
I got your letter today. And I was glad to get one from you. I haven't been doing a hole lot. But studying and just counting the days till I get home. I got 17 more days to go and then I am home ward bound. Sounds nice doesn't it? It don't sean like I have been here as long as I have. I have fun here for six weeks and it seems like about two. Just a few more than I will be home. I would like very much to see you while I am home, if it is all right by you and if you will maybe take you to a movie or supper some night.
I enjoyed reading your letter. It seemed so good to hear from a good friend. My letters get seam to consist of one now and then from Diane and from my mother and sister. To tell the truth I didn't think you would writes. But believe me I am glad that you are. Terrie and I have quit writing to each other. We just seam to hurt each other with each letter we write. One letter we are going to get married and the other we are not so I just give up on the hole deal. Besides we are both too young to know what we really want out of life. The army has made me have an different look out on life and changed me quite a bit.
Happy birthday. It does feel pretty good to be a year older, doesn't it? I remember about four years ago you were sitting but cute with those braces.
Has Ed gotten home? You said he was coming home Saturday. I bet you were really excited to see him as he was to see you. I remember when I came home I just about ran off that plane. I hope everything works out for you as you want it too. Tell Ed I said hello. He probably don't remember me, but I didn't forget him. I used to get pretty mad when he would take you out but not me, but big deal.
School this week is going to be a bore. It is all class room and it is on army forms and records. The only good thing about class room work is we can smoke during class. I guess I am going to have to either quit drinking or eating so much. I keep gaining weight. When I came into the army I weighed 130. At Christmas time I weighed 165. Now I weigh 180. Pretty soon I am going to have to get some more clothes my pants and shirts are just about too small. Didn't do a hole lot over the weekend. Got pretty well drunk Saturday and Sunday. Just sat around recovering from Saturday. Well I guess I will close for now. BE good and write.
Your army buddy,
Jim.
