Saturday Night

Dear Chris,

How are you? I haven't heard from you in a little while. What is the matter? I hope that you aren't mad at me or anything.

Myself I haven't been doing much. I am a little high at the moment, but otherwise I am ok. The company is moving out on a field problem Monday, but for once Dick & I are staying here. Well I just got another beer. It tastes pretty good. You want one. Here have one.

Well now that school is out what are you doing? I know if I was out of school for the summer I sure won't  be sober and that is a fact. Matter of fact when I get home in August I don't plan on staying sober except when I am with you. You don't drink do you? At least  I don't think you do. I can't wait to see you. It has been such a long time. You know it even seems like a long time. I miss you and my family a lot, but what guy in the service not many?

Dick and I are just like brothers and hope to stay in contact with each other when I leave here for Vietnam. Dick has already been there, so he has been giving a big talk like he was my father or something.

Tell Diane for me that if anybody else but Dick writes to her from over here not to write back. A couple of dudes got her address off my foot locker from a letter she sent me and I think they might write her.

I suppose you wonder who Dick is? Well Dick is my best friend ever here. Dick and I are just like brothers and hope to stay in contact with each other when I leave here for Vietnam. Dick has already been there, so he has been giving a big talk like he was my father or something.

I hate to say this but much am I drunk. Dick and I have drank two and half cases of beer so far today and he went after two more six packs after it. I had better just hang it up for the rest of the night. We started drinking at 11 o'clock this morning at work. Well we were supposed to work until 1 but we quit at 11 instead. Well Chris I guess I will close for now. I miss you very much. And I am just waiting to see you once again. Good luck and behave.

Love,
Jim
P.S. TELL EVERYONE HELLO FOR ME.
