Edward J. Thomas - World War II
As this is a work in progress, I have had interest in this project, by the Alaska State Library. I am making available copies of Edward's letters that I am scanning, plus other items and any pictures I can find while Edward was in Alaska. As far as I can tell, and I will update if I learn differently, Uncle Eddie arrived in Alaska on July 23, 1943 as part of the 138th infantry. Somewhere along the line he is part of the 153rd Infantry of Arkansas branch. He will return with them to Camp Shelby, Mississippi sometime between March 19 and April 26, 1944, as I don't have any letters currently in between. I would say that it was in April.
