Edward J. Thomas - World War II
Dear Eddie, Wednesday, June 2, 1943
I read your letter to Izzy and one to herself. Eddie, you don't need to airmail as the letters get here the same day.
I am sending three dollars by registered mail and will send you the batteries for your flashlight.
Harry thinks he can get batteries at work, if not I will send you candles. I bought another flashlight in case you lose yours while on bivouac.
Gene and Gertie were over on Monday. Leonard (Gene's brother) is getting married Sunday, June 13. Gene took an airplane to Kansas.
I will close now so Mac can take me to the Post Office. I heard from Swanton, O. Harry will send a copy of letter. We did very well.
Love, Mother
